Something of Nothing

Posted by Limescale - July 15, 2008 08:26

So much of nothing has happened since I've last scrawled on my wall here. I feel somewhat prompted to write a little something as today one of my old Guild mates from my days as an alliance Furious Gnome Warrior popped up on MSN to talk WoW to me - Nightbearer, an old Night Elf warrior in my guild.

So what have I been up to? Well, more of the same old really. A lot of PvP - grabbing whatever upgrades that I can achieve. Sadly my team mate Dontfoget in the 2v2 has suffered a late night brawling injury result in a broken mouse-hand. Which of course has had a detrimental effect on our Arena. I'm still trying to find a replacement which is easier said than done. I dot have a few skirmish games lined up with a druid in my Guild - Fisker. In the meantime I have been just grabbing points and learning a trick or two from the very best paladin player that I've met, good old Snakeinpants (or better known to me as Sol, or Soleares - as that was his old Human Paladin back form my alliance days).

I do need to begin working on Arena Rating, simply because I'm very close to owning everything from PvP that I can get without 1550+ rating. I have recently feared that I am not that great in PvP. I think I'm pretty sound as a PvP warrior - often topping the damage and kills in Battlegrounds, that is easy, particularly with a heal-bot with you; but in arena I seem to struggle with getting those wins. I need to work on my tactics a little I guess with whatever partner I do settle on. There are a few things that I know that I need to "brush up" on. Like spell reflecting, spell interupting on a focus target - and timing my swings better. The theory I have in my head, but once in the heat of battle I often forget and begin spamming sometimes too often... Focus is what I need - less panic and more thoughtful processing of what is going on and what I need to do.

On the PvE front. Well I've been doing the occasional Heroic SP with guild groups. Nothing serious, always enough to reassure me that these days - PvP is far more my cup of tea. For me - PvE all seems the same (I'll be the first to admit that I don't help my case here, always doing what I already have done before), run into X instance, mark targets and control the pull and bring order where there is otherwise chaos (referring to one of Ciderhelm's awesome tanking podcasts there).

I guess that sometime soon I should come along with a commentry on the new talents for WotLK. But to be honest you'll have already read comments here there and everywhere. But I shall edeavour to return with something worth your precious time for reading sometime soon.
