Limescale's Talents; Endless Rage & 5/5 Enrage

I thought that I would take a little time to chat a little about my new talent build. It is new as of level 70 and getting the Season 1 "welfare" epic 2h mace from PvP.

Limescale's Talent Build - 41/20/0

The first thing that you will notice before even clicking the link is the 41 points that I have spent into the Arms tree - this of course means that I have specc'd for Endless Rage. This talent was originally designed to provide the Warrior with extra rage with each rage yield from white hits - they claimed, by 25%. Over the course of the past year however it has been considered a poor choice for PvP warriors (and of course PvE warriors) because it really didn't give the right amount of rage at all. In patch 2.4 Blizzard claimed to have "fixed" the rage issues with Endless Rage. I felt it my obligation to give it a whirl - no doubt it will eventually become the flavour of the month spec for PvP in a month or so.

You'll also of noticed that I have 0/3 Tactical Mastery. A maneouver in suicide? Possibly. I must admit, I stance dance a lot. Be it in PvP or PvE content - it is one of the core things that every good warrior player should master.

Okay time for some of the nitty gritty.

Again, as with many of my posts, I cannot reliably provide screenshots, numbers or hard statistical fact - you'll just have take my word for it; or go elsewhere ;)

So Endless Rage, to me at least; does seem rather nice. I'll admit, that hitting on shielded targets is still a pain. I'll also admit that my gear is far from good enough to provide a nice comparrison. But let me just say that I am experiencing a ~50 rage gain on white critical hits against targets - which is to say, bloody awesome. Okay, then consider that I can only use MS and WW on cooldowns anyway - and that without Endless Rage I could have probably used the same abilities just as often without any concern. But I can now factor in the use of Hamstring, Pummel, Intimidating Shout and Intercept really rather often as well - without fear of emptying my rage bar. This gives that little extra control that many warriors claim to lack.

That extra rage can also be dumped with a Heroic Strike for a little extra damage that you won't get from a white hit. Okay you won't generate any rage from that weapon swing. But sometimes it is the burst that is all important right? So with a swing timer, Heroic Strike and a well timed Mortal Strike, you can put out a very nice burst.

I've found that the 5/5 Mace specialisation works quite nicely in conjunction with Endless Rage. The control that I am able to manually get from the extra rage to use gets a bonus "random" element with a random weapon stun proc - and that extra 7 rage definately doesn't go amiss!

Other oddities in the build are as follows:

Improved Charge - I'm still spending a lot of time in Battlegrounds - and there, I think that it is used a lot. More rage is just more potential for damage and control, and that initial extra rage bonus can be very important in order to get that control from the outset. Situational I know - but I like it.

Improved Thunderclap - again, quite handy in Battlegrounds, when taking on other melee players. That slower attack speed can work wonders against dual wielding characters.

Blood Frenzy - so what is wrong with buffing your fellow PvP'ers melee damage? Again, I'd possibly reconsider speccing for it in an arena team low on melee players. But in battlegrounds where you see a lot of rogues and warriors and hunters, it is geneious and can really help bring down those targets fast.
